Indian scouts:

Scouting and Guiding was introduced as developmental activity in 1983 for the students of Std IX and was made compulsory for Std VIII (1984 - 85) and Std VII (1985 - 86) and is voluntary after Std VIII. Regular Scouts & Guides meetings are organised and Scouts & Guides skills are taught and activities are conducted. The Scouts & Guides qualify for Pravesh / Pratham Sopan / Divittya Sopan / Tritya Sopan / Rajya Purnskar and Rashtrapati Award.

he school has 18 Advanced trained and 32 Basic Scouts & Guides. 6 Guides qualified for Rashtrapati Award this year. Annual camps, Trekking, Hiking, community service activities are regularly organised. The Scouts & Guides are registered with the Bharat Scouts & Guides, National Headquarters, New Delhi. The Scouts and Guides actively take part in the activities of the National organization for Scouts & Guides, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman and the Bharat Scout & Guides, Indian schools in the Sultanate of Oman.

Indian School Muscat, since its inception has grown steadily with a purpose. From humble beginnings in the year 1975 with 135 children the school today is the largest co-educational institution in the Gulf with over 6400 students.

The Indian School Muscat expresses a deep sense of gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the benevolent ruler of the Sultanate of Oman. It was His Majesty's magnanimous grant of land in Darsait that enabled the school to be established
